| Welcome to a special place of rescue, hope, restoration and everyday miracles nestled in the coastal hills of central California! |
|
Who we are:
Morning Star Youth Ranch is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization created to benefit our youth, support families and rehabilitate horses. It is our desire to provide a safe environment for today's youth to find acceptance, to build trust, and to learn life skills through relationships. |
What we will be doing:
With Youth: We will be inviting youth accompanied by their parents or guardians to travel the dusty road to our ranch, meet the horses and staff and learn what our angels in horsehair have to share. The only requirement is that each child has a desire to come and a willingness to try.
With horses: Morning Star Ranch will be rescuing or purchasing horses in need of nutritional, medical, or emotional care with the goal of restoring them to health and usefulness. We will then be seeking to place them in a positive environment either here on the ranch with visiting youth or in a place consistent with their needs. |

Staff and visiting girls have fun horsing around at the ranch. |
|
Our program will be:
Our program pairs one child, one horse, and one leader to meet the individual needs of each one that comes to the ranch. Through observation, the staff will tailor a program that is created to restore the heart and soul, and develop the strengths of each child. Our program will be offered at no cost. |

What we're doing now:
We are currently going through the County permitting process. We are building arena areas and a horse hospital, training mentors and volunteers. We are also receiving donations of horse supplies, saddles and safety helmets, etc. We hope to be receiving youth into our program this summer 2008.

Workers build pipe fence to separate pastures and lesson areas. |
Our fencing project is 75% complete. We need approximately 400 more feet of fencing at a cost of $12 per foot. We are also constructing shelters in each paddock and need roofing tin in 12 foot lengths. A special thanks to Russ Chumley and his crew for the excellent job they are doing on our fencing.
Write your tax deductible check to MSYR and write FENCING in the memo line. Mail it to us at our ranch address listed at the bottom of this page.
