Our first farrier, Mary Renner would bring tales of a precious miniature donkey named Billy when she came to trim our horses feet. Billy was suffering with foot problems and caring for him was becoming increasingly difficult for his owners, who had raised him from the time he was 10 months old.

After an unsuccessful search for a suitable home, they considered humanely ending his suffering. Upon hearing of their dilemma it was decided to bring Billy to Morning Star Youth Ranch.

Billy loves attention from people and is the meal time alarm as his bray can be heard loud and clear across the ranch when he knows it is feeding time!
